It has come to our attention that some Fender JMJ Mustang basses were shipped with one or more incorrect bridge saddles. These incorrect saddles have a “center” string groove. See photo below highlighting the incorrect saddle with a red arrow above the “A” string. The correct saddles should all be grooved on the left side of the saddle, as shown on the “E”, “D” & “G” strings in the photo below.
If your bass has any number of these incorrect saddles, we are eager to correct the issue. Please contact Fender Consumer Relations via email at consumerrelations@fender.com. Include a clear, close-cropped photo of your bridge, so we can determine what is needed to return your instrument to factory specification. We will reply with information directing you to your nearest Fender Authorized Service Center, where your bass will be serviced at no charge to you.
For JMJ Mustang Bass owners who live beyond 50 miles from the nearest Fender Authorized Service Center, we will cover two-way transportation of the instrument at no expense to you. Contact us at consumerrelations@fender.com for more information.
Note: There have been no specification changes made to the JMJ bass since its introduction in 2017. All JMJ Mustang Basses should have four (4) vintage-style saddles with the string groove on the left side of the saddle (as shown in the photo below), regardless of color of the bass or year of manufacture.
